Weight loss drugs won’t be effective with if they don’t address behavior change. So if you are looking for a weight loss plan, be sure to find out whether behavior change is part of the program.

Hi, I’m Kay Loughrey, nutritionist and dietitian helping you build a healthy relationship with food. And I was a yo yo dieter, a veteran, yo, yo dieter. And this, that’s why I feel so passionate about this topic.  A question that you may want to ask about a weight loss plan you’re considering is how does it address behavior change, both for weight loss and for weight maintenance. One of the problems is that weight loss is much easier than maintaining the weight you lose. That’s why Jeff, one of my clients, said this when he first called me. “I’ve been a yo yo dieter all my life and I want to stop doing this.” We’ve been working together for the last seven months and he’s lost 40 pounds. He’s at his weight loss goal and now we are working on weight maintenance.
