Do you wonder how to find a good weight loss plan and at the same time avoid fad diets? Trying to lose weight can be hard but finding a weight loss plan that fits your lifestyle can be even harder. Learning what works for you can take some trial and error. Many diets promise a fast and easy way to weight loss but can be a gateway to gaining even more weight in the long-run. Here are some ways that you find a good weight loss plan that fits you and allows you to avoid fad diets:
All diets are temporary
Although going on a fad diet can help you lose weight, it is most likely only temporary. If your goal is to achieve a long-term weight loss, fad diets are don’t work well and are not the recommended path. Lifestyle change and new habits that fit your food likes can be more easily sustained. Fad diets also can feel restricting and can make you feel guilty about what you eat. You should be able to eat any food you like and change how much you eat and how often you eat them. Make note of what you normally eat and make slight changes for better results. For example, you could eat less sugar and incorporate more fruits and vegetables to your diet to get started with weight loss. The good news is that you can still eat the foods you love selectively, lose weight, and keep it off.
Most people gain more weight than what they lose on diets
Eighty percent of dieters lose weight at first. Then they regain the weight they lost and more. Nicole, a woman who called me for help with weight loss, told me about her experience with dieting. She said, “When I first started dieting, I was 140 lbs. Five diets later, I’m now 225 lbs. I’m so frustrated.” Finding a good meal plan allows you to eat the foods you like selectively is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. I recommend you choose a weight loss plan that focuses on how to live a fulfilling life at a healthy weight. I believe that you deserve to live a fulfilling life includes having a healthy mind and healthy body at the weight you want to be and being able to look in the mirror and love who you see.
