Welcome. In today’s video, we’ll talk about how to tap into what you really want instead of overeating when you’re not even hungry. This is the fifth in a series of videos on the Five Steps to Stop being Controlled by Food. In the previous videos, we covered a summary of the five steps, the triggers, the food cravings, and how to pause, slow down so you don’t cave in to the overeating. Today, we’re looking at how to tap into what you truly want and your feelings that have nothing to do with food.
We’re featuring Jenny, one of my previous weight loss coaching clients. Jenny
would walk in the door after work and then her food cravings were triggered as she walked into the kitchen. She snacked while she cooked and had overeaten yet again by the time she finished dinner.
We put a strategy in place that disrupted this process. I recommended that she get in touch with what it was she truly wanted and this is what she discovered. What she wanted was some relief from the workday stress. Why? Because after dinner, she had a difficult conversation with her ailing parents. They had a call every night, to talk about pressing decisions they needed to make. In the next video, we’ll look at what else Jenny did to stop having food control her.
